My name is Mark Baylin and I'm a photographer based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I've been capturing my surroundings on film and (now) digital media since I was 10 years old.
The work found here spans my entire career as a photographer. Portfolios contain images taken from 1979 to the present time.
As you can see from my work, my visual philosophy is that almost anything can make an inspiring photograph. I strive to find that un-noticed gem that's hidden in plain view. I've always found the most satisfying subjects were the ones you never imagined looking for, but spontaneously came across. Every single image found on this site was made in this manner. Letting go of any pre-concieved notions of what a photograph should and shouldn't be has kept the act of making images fresh, fun and creatively satisfying for me for more than 30 years.
My photographs were made to be seen, and hopefully enjoyed. I would be honoured to make something special for you!
